Utilize the Examinationhub in patient work

On this page, you will find tips on how to make the best use of the Examinationhub in your work.

The Examinationhub provides support and up-to-date information on laboratory and imaging examinations. The patient can be directed to watch short videos available in the hub, which offer a clear overview of the examination process. It is important to remind the patient that the details of examinations may vary between different regions. Reviewing the patient instructions provided by their own healthcare provider well in advance of the examination is essential.

Patients are often nervous about different examinations, especially if they are undergoing the examination for the first time. Many adults, adolescents, and children suffer from fear of needles, and claustrophobia is a fairly common issue in the population. In addition, pregnant women often wonder whether imaging examinations can be performed on them. In the section “Feeling nervous about the examination”, the patient can find information on these topics.

A child’s anxiety is often reduced by knowing what will happen in the laboratory or during imaging. It is advisable for parents/escorts to honestly explain the upcoming examination in advance, so that the child can ask the adult any questions that may be on their mind. The section Child undergoing examinations in the Examinationhub is an excellent tool for this purpose.

Patients are often worried about radiation exposure from examinations and its potential adverse effects. The section Information about radiation explains how radiation is used safely in imaging examinations. It provides information on radiation doses associated with different types of examinations as well as their possible side effects.
