Moving to hospice care may feel hard at first, but the meaning and opportunities provided by hospice care often become clearer both to the recipient and their loved ones over time, and start to look like something positive and a source of comfort. Hospice care does not mean not receiving care anymore; instead, the focus changes from illness-specific treatment to symptom relief.
Once you’ve had the chance to discuss your concerns related to the progression of your illness with your doctor and nurse, you may be able to focus on making the remainder of your life as good as possible. Hospice care accepts that life is finite and ends in death.
