The palliative care pathway for Uusimaa has been updated in March of 2025.
The unit responsible for demanding special-level palliative care (level C) is the HUS Palliative Center. The unit responsible for demanding special-level hospice care is Terhokoti, in collaboration with the HUS Palliative Center. Special-level palliative care and hospice care (level B) is organised by each wellbeing services county and Helsinki, and comprises outpatient clinics, hospice care at home by home hospital services, and inpatient care, either in a hospice care ward or as palliative beds in health centres. Basic-level palliative care and hospice care (level A) is provided in all healthcare and social welfare units.
