Terhokoti is a 14-bed hospice located in Lassila in Helsinki. The hospice also provides home care services and operates a day hospital. The services is directed at patients with an advanced illness at the end-of-life stage.
Terhokoti is run by the non-profit TERHO Foundation that acts for the public good. The purpose is to promote the safety and quality of life of patients with an incurable illness. In addition, the foundation carries out trainings on hospice care and research related to providing care to hospice patients.
Terhokoti admits both patients with cancer and those with other serious illnesses. In addition to the Terhokoti personnel, the hospice has a multiprofessional team to support the patient and their family (nurse focusing on healthcare social work, family worker, lymphoedema therapist, physical therapist, logotherapist, hospital musician, therapists providing pamper treatments, volunteers, and a hospital chaplain from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helsinki).
