The digital pathway provides patients who are scheduled for gallbladder removal surgery at HUS with information about the procedure, its specific characteristics, as well as preparation for and recovery from the operation. The patient is enrolled in the digital pathway in connection with the surgical decision made based on a referral. While waiting for the operation, the patient familiarizes themselves with the content of the pathway independently and prepares for the surgery with its support.
HUS Gallbladder removal surgery
In this service, the patient can review preoperative instructions and postoperative home care guidance at a time that suits them best. Through the digital pathway, the patient can send messages to the treating unit.
The service is intended for adult patients undergoing gallbladder removal surgery at HUS who are suitable for day surgery or short-stay procedures.
To access the service, the patient needs a doctor's referral to the LYHKI unit (short-stay surgery unit). The service is activated for the patient based on the referral once it has been determined that the patient is suitable for the digital pathway. The patient will be informed about the activation of the service in an information letter.
