Your rights in relation to data protection and processing of personal data

Data protection and transparency in the processing of personal data is very important to us. We want to make sure that you understand your rights in relation to data protection and the processing of personal data.

If any of the Health Village privacy policies apply to you, you should be aware of your rights. This page outlines all your general rights. More information related to data protection and the processing of personal data can be found in the description of the processing of personal data in the Health Village service:

You have the right to know which personal data of yours we process. You also have the right to view this data.

Regarding digital pathways, you have the right to know who has processed your personal data during the last two years.

Our duty is to keep your personal duty up to date. If you detect any errors in your personal data, you have the right to demand the rectification of the inaccurate data.

In addition, regarding digital pathways, you can correct your personal data independently when you log in.

You have the right to demand your personal data to be erased (also known as the right to be forgotten).

Regarding digital pathways, the guidelines and procedures of the organisation responsible for your care shall apply.

Regarding self-care programs, you can delete your data yourself.

Please note that it may not be possible to delete your data from the Health Village My Path service due to our legal (94/2022) retention obligations. The data in the Health Village My Path service is stored pseudonymously and cannot be directly linked to a person. Pseudonymised data can be used, for example, for data management planning on the basis of the Act on the Secondary Use of Health and Social Data (552/2019).

You have the right to request your data in machine-readable format and, if technically possible, transmit that data directly to another service provider.

Regarding digital pathways, this right concerns your journal entries and other data you have provided, for example.

In some cases, you have the right to demand us to restrict the processing of your personal data. This means that we would have the right to store your personal data but may not use it in any other way. You may demand us to restrict the processing of your personal data if you demand the data to be erased or rectified. The processing of your personal data will be restricted until the data is up to date or the decision regarding the erasure of the data has been made.

We value data protection and hope that you will contact us if you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal data. If you believe that your statutory rights have been infringed or the processing of your data violates existing legislation, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the national data protection agency.
