Corneal erosion and diabetes

Diabetes predisposes the eye's cornea to ulceration, also known as erosion.

The eyes of a person with diabetes can be more susceptible to irritation and dryness. The treatments include eye drops and moisturising gel.

A painful ulcer or erosion may develop on the surface of the cornea even without trauma. The treatment is an eye pad with ointment.
