Risk of HIV transmission

After having a good treatment response with HIV-medicines for over six months and continuing medicines regularly, HIV will practically not be transmitted even in sex without a condom.

Come with your partner to doctor’s or nurse’s appointment if you consider to stop using condoms. Condoms are still important also for HIV-positive people to prevent other sexually transmitted diseases including a second HIV-transmission that may be more difficult to treat. This is especially relevant with casual sex partners.
