What is a Biobank consent?

According to the Biobank Act (688/2012), samples and data can be stored in biobank if the donor has given a written consent.
Once you give a biobank consent, it is valid until further notice. You can withdraw your consent at any time by notifying Helsinki Biobank in writing. If you do so, your samples and data will no longer be handed over for new research projects. You may also limit your consent on an individual basis. Please notice, that handling limitations in the biobank  is not always possible and you may be regarded as having withdrawn your consent.
