Step 4: Final decision, MTA, Sample and data Delivery and Invoice

The final decision of approval is made by the Medical Director of HUS based on the recommendation of Helsinki Biobank. Upon final approval of your application the Materials Transfer Agreement (MTA) will be provided to you. This agreement also includes a description of costs. The MTA should be signed by an institute representative, not by the individual researcher. The samples will be prepared for dispatch as soon as the signed MTA is received by Helsinki Biobank, after which also a detailed invoice will be sent.
The time for completion of the process and material dispatch is completely dependent on the type and amount of samples requested, and whether the research group can provide help from a pathologist or any other expertise needed.
