A suitable amount of cold cuts is 1 slice per a piece of bread. If there is already meat/fish/vegetable protein on the plate, it is recommendable to leave cold cuts out or put some greens on on the bread. Food products enriched with protein or with added protein are not recommended.
The recommended amount of liquid dairy products is 350–500 grams per day. This amount ensures a sufficient intake of calcium when the diet also includes legumes, dark green vegetables, fish, nuts, and seeds. Depending on the type of cheese, 10–20 grams of cheese corresponds to about 100 grams of liquid dairy product.
When it comes to fruit, berries, vegetables, wholegrains and unsaturated fats (vegetable margarines and oils, oil-based salad dressing, fish, seeds and nuts), it is good to follow the national guidelines.
