Diabetes and warts

In the image, there is a sole of a foot with a wart in the middle of the forefoot.

A wart is a benign skin tumour caused by a virus. Most warts heal on their own in a few months.

Because of the risk of infection, a person with diabetes should not treat warts with corrosive substances. If necessary, a podiatrist or foot therapist can provide information about the treatment.
