Diabetes and bunion

A bunion is a deformity of the foot where the big toe turns into an incorrect position.

A bunion refers to a deformity which pushes the big toe towards the smaller toes. Often, the deformity is caused by a functional fault of the foot, resulting in heavy pressure on the big toe. The deformity is also exacerbated by tight or high-heeled shoes.

Self-care is based on wearing suitable footwear and muscle exercises. For proper care instructions, you should contact a podiatrist or foot therapist specialising in diabetic foot therapy.
